basics
NAME: Alecto Myriam Carrow
AGE / BIRTHDATE: 20 / November 19, 1960
BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood
FORMER HOUSE: Slytherin 1979 (did not complete)
OCCUPATION: Full-time Death Eater. Part-time butcher for the Death Eaters.

relationships
FAMILY: Carrow Family Tree
PARENTS: Meryle Carrow (1938 - 1979) & Sorina (née Goyle) Carrow (b. 1940)
SIBLINGS: Ambrose (1958-1977), Atalo (1959-1959), Amycus (b. 1960), Amaryllis (b. 1962)

SEXUALITY: Heterosexual. Inevitably asexual. Based on the natural order of things biologically, Alecto sees no other possibility of a relationship than that between a male and a female. However, her inability to understand emotion and her detachment from all human beings has made her steadfastly asexual. She sees a physical relationship having the sole purpose of passing strong genes to offspring. An emotional relationship is absolutely absurd.

politics
LOYALTY/ALLIANCE: Death Eaters

ROLE IN THE WAR: Having no emotional connection to others, Alecto has nothing to lose and is therefore an excellent candidate for a Death Eater. After rejection from the Wizengamot, Alecto lost all sense of life direction, and is therefore young and impressionable, willing to devote herself to Voldemort. Carrows have been the servants of rich, pureblood families for decades, and therefore Alecto could potentially be used as a lackey of sorts for the more elite Death Eaters. Her father’s death in a skirmish with Aurors has caused her to hate the Ministry, and she sees it and the Order of the Phoenix as altering the natural selection process by protecting muggles and muggleborns. Skill wise, Alecto excels at healing and hunting. She has some capabilities with potions, but her true expertise is at survival skills. She will be beneficial to the Death Eaters as they travel the world, and perhaps are forced in to not-so-pristine living conditions. With Alecto around and an abundant wildlife source nearby, they will never have to fear of starving to death. She is also equipped with endless facts on all things natural, as well as other cultures, which will be a great help in their travels, as well. Most importantly, if she does not know the answer, she knows how to find it.

POLITICAL VIEWS: Alecto views all creatures on this planet as being part of the theory of natural selection. Those species that are genetically weak will die in a natural course of events, as they are not fit enough to compete with more intelligent and reproductively sound species. She believes that every human has the capability of becoming a witch or wizard when they are conceived, as she believes the ability of magic to be carried within a gene. Though, as all genetics works, this magic gene is either dominant or recessive.
BEASTS: Alecto considers all non-human animals to be beasts. Though, she does not use the term beasts in a negative tone. If anything, she has respect and awe for non-human creatures. She is fascinated by predatory species, such as dragons, large cats, and sharks. She is intrigued by the peculiar behaviors of animals, such as the workings of a honey bee hive or the mating ritual of Bird of Paradise. Alecto could never condemn non-human creatures, as they provide a rich source of entertainment and food, but she must place them at the bottom of her hierarchy of fit species, as they are non-human. Biologically speaking, human brains are more advanced than that of any other species on this planet, and therefore in Alecto’s reasoning, beasts must be placed at the bottom.

MUGGLES: The most unfit human species. The magic gene within muggles is recessive, and therefore magical qualities recede and are not observed. In this sense, Alecto pities muggles as they are oblivious to the magical capabilities they were denied. However, she believes that as a species they are weak and cannot survive while wizards do. Void of magic, they do not have the capabilities of healing powers, or the ability to live well past 100. She believes natural selection will run its course, and eventually muggles will die out because of their weakness. Therefore, Alecto does not see the point in killing muggles when nature will kill them off in its own way.

SQUIBS: The second most unfit human species. Squibs are the product of two magical parents, whose magic gene is somehow recessive. Alecto does not understand how squibs manage to survive to birth, let alone why wizarding parents allow them to. They are genetic abnormalities that exist within all species (i.e. toads with seven limbs or albino peaocks), and like muggles, she believes that natural selection will kill them off individually.

MUGGLEBORNS: The middle of the spectrum. When it comes down to it, Alecto does not see what is so wrong about muggleborns. Yes, they have muggle parents, but they managed inherit the dominant magic gene. Though not as strong as purebloods in terms of their magic potential and lack of immersed magical upbringing, Alecto must place them in the middle of the hierarchy of the fittest species. As long as there are muggles, there will be muggleborns. She suspects that muggleborns have wizarding ancestors somewhere down the line that increase the possibility of the offspring of two muggles to carry a dominant magic gene. She does however, approve of sexual reproduction between wizards and muggles. It’s like mating between a poodle and a Labrador; while it can create some genetic diversity and a darn cute pup, it can also lead to unfortunate mutations and weak offspring.

HALF-BREEDS: The second most fit species. Though politically incorrect, Alecto considers half-breeds to include werewolves and vampires. Magic abilities or not, Alecto respects half-breeds and sees their worth outside of magic. She sees werewolves and vampires as the ultimate hunters; vampires especially as they have achieved immortality. Alecto is envious of their instincts and natural killing abilities of vampires and werewolves, and has even on many occasion considered pursuing an existence of a half-breed. She has nothing but respect for them.

PUREBLOODS: The most fit species. Obviously, purebloods are the offspring of two magical parents and their magic gene is dominant. Capable of magic, of healing abilities, and of living extended lives well past 150, Alecto sees purebloods as the most fit species. Natural selection will ensure the survival of purebloods.

appearance
APPEARANCE:

personality
WAND: A swishy, 7-inch apple wood with a unicorn hair core.
UNICORN HAIR is a more subtle wand core, but it is quite compatible with Charms and Transfiguration. It is also hands-down the best core for healing, as it picks up some of the healing capabilities of unicorn blood. Unicorn hair has a reputation of picking gentler or more cerebral users, so it is common amongst Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws. More laid-back Gryffindors and subtler Slytherins may find themselves with a Unicorn hair wand.

APPLE is a gentle, outdoorsy wood that would find favor with a student skilled in Herbology or Care of Magical Creatures. It tends to get overwhelmed easily, and is thus rarely used with powerful cores.
BOGGART: A brassiere
PATRONUS: Cannot produce a Patronus. However, if she were capable of doing so, it would take the form of a bobcat.
LIKES: hunting, encyclopedias, Nicholas Flamel
DISLIKES: make up, confined spaces, lingerie, Dark Lord possessions
STRENGTHS: Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology, Potions, healing, hunting, survival skills, drawing
WEAKNESSES: Transfiguration, Charms, narrow-mindedness, cooking with spices, love, literary expressions

KNOWN INFORMATION: KNOWN DEATH EATER/IT DEPENDS ON WHO YOU ASK. Her wanted poster can be seen throughout Britain. However, like within the Death Eaters, it seems that not many care about Alecto Carrow, the poor girl from the equally poor family that's the blunt of every non-muggle joke told by pureblood wizards. While Alecto keeps her devotion to the Death Eaters no secret, and the Carrows are notoriously known for getting wrapped up in deals with dark wizards, she is not exactly at the top of the Ministry's most wanted list.

DETAILED PERSONALITY: Alecto is robotic in nature. If there is not a set precedent for something, or she cannot find an explanation within a textbook, she does not comprehend the concept. She is familiar with the instincts and behaviors of animals she has read about or observed, but because of her upbringing, Alecto does not have much experience or understanding of human nature. The absence of her parents in her life in her mind equates to the upbringing of most offspring in the animal kingdom, in which most species abandon their young to fend for themselves. The Carrows were hardly nurturing parents when they were present, and thus human emotion and compassion was not something Alecto encountered until school. At the age of eleven, it was well past the age that the developmental part of the brain is capable of turning observed behaviors in to learnt behaviors. She struggles with human attachment and sympathy for others. By no means is she incapable of feeling emotions, she simply does not understand them. As she travels with the Death Eaters, she is forced to work with an defend her fellow comrades, creating a rush of emotions within Alecto. She has no precedent for how to deal with these emotions or an understanding of why she is feeling such things. She has a lot of growth to do as a human being.

In a sense, Alecto is an extreme girl scout. Raised in poor conditions, she knows how to survive rough conditions. Having a fondness for nature and biology, she has studied and absorbed endless facts about wildlife and the natural world, most information that was vital to the survival of her and her siblings. Her knowledge has aided her gathering of food through means of hunting and scavenging, search for clothing and shelter, and other skills needed for basic survival. Having had little possessions in her life, Alecto does not see the need for material objects, particularly those that are excessive. She takes what she needs and wastes none.

Alecto is very narrow-minded. She frowns upon anything that goes against anthropological norms, most notably to homosexuality. As mainly a being who sees sexual relations as purely purported to produce offspring and further genetic lines, she ignores and disproves of physical relations between the same sex. Despite her worldly knowledge, she is not very open to foreigners, their culture, language, and behaviors. Though she finds them fascinating from an observed standpoint, she is not one to learn the foreign language or culture herself. She believes that since the books of intellect she has read are in English and the theorists she has followed are English, therefore the intelligence of all other cultures should be measured by English standards.
